Overview

Olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily V member 1 (OR10V1) is a member of the largest gene family in the human genome, the olfactory receptor family. OR10V1 is a G protein-coupled receptor with a seven-transmembrane domain structure, responsible for binding odorant molecules in the nose and triggering a neuronal response that results in odor perception. Like other olfactory receptors, OR10V1 facilitates G protein-mediated signal transduction upon odorant binding. No specific disease associations or drug interactions are documented for OR10V1. Its function is restricted to sensory signal transduction in the olfactory pathway.
