Olfactory receptor family 11 subfamily J member 5 pseudogene (OR11J5P) is a non-functional genomic locus in humans classified as a pseudogene belonging to the olfactory receptor family. It does not produce an active protein product and does not participate in odorant signal transduction or other biological roles. Olfactory receptors, when functional, are G protein-coupled receptors responsible for recognizing odorant molecules in the nose and initiating neuronal responses that produce the perception of smell, but this locus is not active and does not contribute to such processes.
