Target intelligence / Profile preview
Olfactory receptor family 11 subfamily L member 1 is a member of the large olfactory receptor gene family, comprising G protein-coupled receptors that detect odorants in the nasal epithelium and initiate neuronal signals for the perception of smell. These receptors bind odorant molecules and transduce signals via G proteins to produce nerve impulses, forming the basis for olfactory cognition. OR11L1 shares the common 7-transmembrane domain architecture typical of GPCRs and is part of the largest gene family in the human genome
