Olfactory receptor family 13 subfamily I member 1 pseudogene (OR13I1P) is a human pseudogene belonging to the olfactory receptor family, which in their functional forms are G protein-coupled receptors responsible for odorant detection. However, as a pseudogene, OR13I1P contains disabling mutations that prevent it from encoding a functional olfactory receptor protein and thus does not participate in sensory transduction or have known biological activity[1][2][5][7]. It may be present in transcriptomic studies but lacks protein-coding capacity.
