Olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily A member 2 (OR2A2) is a member of the large olfactory receptor gene family in humans. OR2A2 encodes a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) with seven transmembrane domains, primarily expressed in the olfactory epithelium, where it detects odorant molecules and initiates a neural response for the perception of smell[1][2][3]. Olfactory receptors, including OR2A2, share structural features with other GPCRs, including conserved motifs across their seven transmembrane helices.
