Overview

Olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily AG member 2 (OR2AG2) is a G protein-coupled receptor found in humans, encoded by the OR2AG2 gene[2][5][7][8]. Like other olfactory receptors, it features a canonical seven-transmembrane domain structure and is responsible for recognizing odorant molecules in the nose, triggering a neuronal response that leads to the perception of smell. OR2AG2 belongs to the largest gene family in the human genome, and its main biological function is to mediate the initial steps of olfactory signal transduction[2][10]. There are no well-established drug interactions, biomarker uses, or notable safety concerns associated with this receptor, and its primary physiological role is sensory, not therapeutic[2][10].
