Olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily B member 2 (OR2B2)

Olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily B member 2 (OR2B2) is a protein-coding gene encoding an olfactory receptor, part of the largest family of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs)[1][3][9]. These receptors detect odorant molecules in the nose and trigger a neuronal response that enables the perception of smell. OR2B2 is characterized by a 7-transmembrane domain structure typical of GPCRs, sharing this feature with many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors.
