Olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily L member 2 (OR2L2) is a G protein-coupled receptor expressed in the olfactory epithelium, responsible for detecting odorant molecules in the nose and initiating neuronal signaling that leads to the perception of smell. Like other olfactory receptors, OR2L2 is a member of the large class A GPCR family, encoded by a single coding exon, and possesses a characteristic 7-transmembrane domain structure shared with other neurotransmitter and hormone receptors.
