Overview

Olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily T member 10 (OR2T10) is a member of the olfactory receptor family, which are G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) involved in the detection of odorant molecules in the nose and initiation of neuronal responses leading to the perception of smell[3][6][5]. Olfactory receptors such as OR2T10 have a 7-transmembrane domain architecture similar to many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors and are encoded by single coding-exon genes[3][6][5]. The human olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the genome. There is currently no established role for OR2T10 as a therapeutic target, disease biomarker, or known interacting drugs, and no specific safety concerns or use in patient biomarker strategies have been described[3][6][5].
