Olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily T member 32 pseudogene (OR2T32P) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 1. While its sequence closely resembles that of functional olfactory receptors in family 2, subfamily T, it does not encode a functional protein and is classed as a non-protein coding gene. Pseudogenes like OR2T32P arise through genetic changes such as nonsense or frameshift mutations that render them non-functional. While some pseudogenes may have regulatory roles at the RNA level in other contexts, there is no current evidence that OR2T32P serves such a function in humans. This pseudogene is not relevant to therapeutic strategies, disease targeting, or drug development.
