Olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily T member 34 (OR2T34) is a G protein-coupled receptor predominantly expressed in the olfactory epithelium of the nose, where it detects specific odorant molecules from the environment. Like other olfactory receptors, OR2T34 has a canonical 7-transmembrane domain structure, characteristic of the GPCR superfamily. It functions by binding to odorant ligands and activating G protein-mediated signaling pathways, which ultimately initiate a neuronal response and the perception of smell. There is no current evidence supporting its therapeutic targeting or direct involvement in major human diseases, and no drugs are known to act selectively on OR2T34.[3][4][5]
