Olfactory receptor family 2 subfamily T member 35 (OR2T35) is a protein-coding gene in humans encoding an olfactory receptor, which belongs to the class A (rhodopsin-like) G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily[1][10]. These receptors are primarily responsible for the recognition of odorant molecules in the nasal epithelium, mediating signal transduction that contributes to the sense of smell by triggering neuronal responses[1][6][7][8][9][10]. Olfactory receptors, including OR2T35, are characterized by a seven-transmembrane domain structure, a hallmark feature shared with many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors[1][2][3][6][7][10]. While the chief biological role of OR2T35 is in olfactory signal transduction, recent reviews seek to elucidate broader, potentially nonolfactory roles for GPCR-family olfactory receptors, including physiological and pathological processes outside the nasal system; however, direct disease association and pharmacological targeting for OR2T35 itself have not been determined[1][3][10].
