Olfactory receptor family 5 subfamily H member 4 pseudogene (OR5H4P) is a non-coding human DNA sequence annotated as a pseudogene in the olfactory receptor gene family.[1] Olfactory receptor genes typically encode G protein-coupled receptors responsible for odorant detection in the nose, but OR5H4P contains disabling mutations (such as premature stop codons or frameshifts) that prevent translation into a functional protein.
