Olfactory receptor family 5 subfamily P member 4 pseudogene (OR5P4P), also known as OST730, is a human pseudogene classified within the olfactory receptor (OR) family. It is a genomic locus on chromosome 11p15.4 that is a member of the olfactory receptor gene family, which typically encodes G protein-coupled receptor proteins involved in odor detection. However, OR5P4P contains sequence mutations (such as nonsense or frameshift mutations) that render it non-coding and unable to produce a functional olfactory receptor protein. As a pseudogene, it represents a remnant of a previously functional gene and generally lacks direct biological functions or implications for therapy. It is not implicated in pathology or targeted by drugs, and is not considered a therapeutic target.
