Olfactory receptor family 52 subfamily D member 1 (OR52D1) is a member of the olfactory receptor gene family that encodes G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) featuring a characteristic 7-transmembrane domain structure[1][2][5][6][8]. These proteins are expressed primarily in the nasal epithelium and are responsible for recognizing odorant molecules, thereby initiating neuronal responses that ultimately enable the perception of smells[1][4][8].
