Olfactory receptor family 52 subfamily H member 1 (OR52H1) is a human protein encoded by the *OR52H1* gene, which belongs to the large olfactory receptor family[4][6][7][9]. These receptors are G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) characterized by a 7-transmembrane domain structure that is common to many hormone and neurotransmitter receptors[4][7][9]. OR52H1 is primarily responsible for detecting specific odorant molecules in the nose, initiating a neuronal response that triggers the perception of smell[4][6][9]. The gene arises from a single coding-exon, consistent with the entire olfactory receptor family[4][7][9]. Currently, no direct evidence supports a role for OR52H1 in human disease, and there are no known therapeutic drugs that target this receptor. Its main recognized function is in olfactory signal transduction[4][9].
