Olfactory receptor family 52 subfamily N member 1 (OR52N1) is a human G protein-coupled receptor located in the nasal olfactory epithelium, where it mediates the detection of odorant molecules responsible for the sense of smell[2][4][7][8]. OR52N1 belongs to the large family of olfactory receptors, characterized by a 7-transmembrane domain structure typical of rhodopsin-like class A GPCRs, and specifically to subfamily N of family 52 within the human olfactory gene repertoire[2][5][7][8]. Like other olfactory receptors, OR52N1 initiates intracellular signaling via G proteins following odorant binding; however, no specific endogenous or exogenous ligands are currently described for this receptor[5][8]. There is no evidence supporting disease involvement, therapeutic targeting, drug interactions, biomarker use, or specific safety concerns in the literature[2][5][8].
