Olfactory receptor family 6 subfamily C member 4 (OR6C4) is a human protein belonging to the large family of olfactory receptors, which mediate detection of odorant molecules in the nose and trigger neuronal responses involved in smell perception[2][6]. Like other olfactory receptors, OR6C4 is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) characterized by a seven-transmembrane domain structure, encoded by a single exon gene[2][6].
