Olfactory receptors are G protein-coupled receptors responsible for odor recognition and transduction in functional members, but pseudogenes like OR6C66P do not encode functional receptor proteins and do not participate in odorant signaling. OR6C66P has no known biological function, disease association, drug interaction, or diagnostic use in humans. This gene is annotated as a pseudogene in standard gene databases and does not produce a functional protein in humans. While some olfactory pseudogenes can have regulatory roles in some species or under rare circumstances, OR6C66P is not one with any such reported function in humans.
