Olfactory receptor family 6 subfamily E member 1 pseudogene (OR6E1P) is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome. While functional olfactory receptors are G protein-coupled receptors that interact with odorant molecules and mediate smell via neuronal signaling, pseudogenes like OR6E1P arise from mutations that disrupt the coding sequence and prevent production of a functional protein product. OR6E1P is annotated as non-functional and is not associated with known biological activity, disease involvement, or drug targeting in humans.
