Target intelligence / Profile preview
Olfactory receptor family 6 subfamily X member 1 (OR6X1) is a member of the olfactory receptor family, which comprises G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) with a 7-transmembrane domain structure. OR6X1 binds and recognizes odorant molecules in the nasal epithelium, initiating G protein-mediated neuronal signaling that results in the perception of smell. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome, and these receptors function primarily in the olfactory signaling pathway[1][3][10]. Currently, no known drugs interact with OR6X1, and it is not associated with specific diseases or therapeutic safety concerns.
