Olfactory receptor family 7 subfamily A member 19 pseudogene (OR7A19P) is a human pseudogene related to olfactory receptors. Olfactory receptor genes, when functional, encode G protein-coupled receptors involved in odorant detection and signal transduction via a 7-transmembrane domain. OR7A19P, however, is annotated as a pseudogene, indicating it is a nonfunctional copy and does not produce a functional receptor protein or participate in olfactory signaling. Pseudogenes like OR7A19P may arise from mutations that disrupt the normal coding sequence, leading to loss of function. There are no known biological functions, disease roles, or drug interactions associated with this gene. The conventions and current data indicate this entity is not considered a therapeutic target and is typically excluded from drug development contexts.
