Olfactory receptor family 7 subfamily E member 101 pseudogene (OR7E101P) is classified as an unprocessed pseudogene and does not produce a functional protein product in humans[4][8]. The canonical sequence arises from a gene family encoding olfactory receptors, which are typically responsible for odorant recognition and signal transduction through G protein–coupled receptor mechanisms. However, as a pseudogene, OR7E101P contains disabling mutations and is considered non-functional, lacking both biological activity and involvement in cellular signaling or disease processes[4][8]. No drugs or clinical biomarkers are associated with this gene, and it is not considered a therapeutic target.
