Olfactory receptor family 7 subfamily E member 11 pseudogene (OR7E11P, alias OR11-2) is a human pseudogene encoded on chromosome 11. Olfactory receptors typically mediate detection of odorants via G protein-coupled signaling, but this gene does not produce a functional receptor due to its pseudogene status. While olfactory receptor gene family members are the largest gene family in the human genome, many—including OR7E11P—do not contribute to olfactory processes. OR7E11P has no known function, disease associations, interacting drugs, or biomarker utility, and it is not considered a therapeutic target.[2][3][9]
