Olfactory receptor family 7 subfamily E member 29 pseudogene (OR7E29P) is a member of the extensive human olfactory receptor gene family, which is comprised mainly of G protein-coupled receptors involved in odorant detection. However, OR7E29P is classified as a pseudogene, meaning it is a genomic DNA sequence similar to functional genes but is non-functional due to accumulated mutations or genetic rearrangements; it does not generate a functional protein and has no recognized role in olfactory signaling or disease.
