Olfactory receptor family 9 subfamily Q member 2 (OR9Q2) is a protein encoded by the OR9Q2 gene and classified as a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR). It is involved in the detection of odorant molecules in the nose, initiating signal transduction that leads to the perception of smell. OR9Q2 shares the characteristic seven-transmembrane domain typical of olfactory and non-olfactory GPCRs, facilitating recognition and activation by diverse small-molecule odorants.
