Interleukin 31 Receptor Pathway via OSMRβ Inhibition

Molecular classification
Receptor, Cytokine receptor, Heterodimeric receptor
01

Overview

The interleukin 31 receptor is a heterodimeric complex composed of IL-31 receptor A (IL-31RA) and oncostatin M receptor beta (OSMRβ). IL-31 binding activates JAK/STAT, PI3K/AKT, and MAPK signaling pathways, leading to diverse biological functions including immune regulation, tissue remodeling, and pruritus mediation. Inhibiting the OSMRβ subunit disrupts the receptor complex and prevents downstream pro-inflammatory and neurogenic effects, making it a therapeutic target for chronic pruritic conditions.
