Oncostatin M Receptor Beta Subunit (OSMRβ) is a member of the type I cytokine receptor family. It forms heterodimeric complexes with gp130 (IL6ST) to form the type II Oncostatin M Receptor that binds oncostatin M (OSM) and with interleukin 31 receptor A (IL31RA) to form the Interleukin 31 Receptor that binds interleukin 31 (IL-31). These complexes activate JAK/STAT, MAPK, and PI3K/Akt pathways, leading to diverse cellular responses. OSMR is widely expressed and its dysregulation is associated with diseases like familial primary localized cutaneous amyloidosis. It is being explored as a therapeutic target for cancer and inflammatory diseases.
