Oncotrophoblast Glycoprotein 5T4 (TPBG)

Target
TPBG
Molecular classification
Type I transmembrane glycoprotein, Oncofetal antigen
01

Overview

Oncotrophoblast glycoprotein 5T4 (TPBG) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion, migration, and Wnt signaling. It is highly expressed in various carcinomas but has limited expression in normal adult tissues, making it an attractive target for cancer therapy. It interacts with GIPC1 and plays a role in EMT and chemotaxis. Experimental therapies include monoclonal antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, and cancer vaccines.
