Target intelligence / Profile preview
One cut homeobox 1 (ONECUT1, also known as hepatocyte nuclear factor 6 or HNF6) is a member of the Cut homeobox family of transcription factors. Predominantly expressed in the liver, it regulates the transcription of liver-expressed genes and antagonizes glucocorticoid-stimulated gene transcription. ONECUT1 is essential for liver and pancreatic development, binds specific DNA sequences to control gene expression, and influences diverse cellular processes including glucose metabolism and the cell cycle. Altered ONECUT1 function has been implicated in certain cancers and congenital disorders such as Alagille syndrome 1[1][2][3][5].
