OOSP1P1 is a pseudogene, or non-functional genomic sequence, related to the gene encoding oocyte secreted protein 1 (OOSP1). OOSP1 in mice encodes a protein secreted by oocytes, potentially involved in ovarian folliculogenesis[1]. However, OOSP1P1 is a pseudogene and therefore does not encode a functional protein product. As with other pseudogenes, it may possess regulatory functions at the DNA or RNA level in certain contexts, but there is currently no evidence that OOSP1P1 itself is implicated in disease, drug interaction, or is relevant as a therapeutic target[3][5].
