Oral bacterial biofilm is a highly structured community of microorganisms, primarily bacteria, encased in a self-produced extracellular matrix. It forms on surfaces in the mouth, most notably teeth (dental plaque), and plays a crucial role in both oral health and the development of diseases like dental caries and periodontal disease.
