OSER1 divergent transcript (OSER1-DT, also known as OSER1-AS1 or OSER1 antisense RNA 1 (head to head)) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 20q13.12. OSER1-DT is transcribed in the opposite orientation to the neighboring OSER1 gene. Functional studies indicate OSER1-DT acts as a tumor suppressor in certain cancers (including non-small cell lung cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma), likely through post-transcriptional regulation of target genes such as Smad2, Rab23, ELAVL1, and GPX4, partly by sponging microRNAs. OSER1-DT has demonstrated involvement in programmed cell death pathways (e.g., necroptosis, ferroptosis) and activation of specific immune pathways, but is not a protein, enzyme, or classical receptor, nor an established drug target.
As a lncRNA, acts through modulation of other gene expression, often by microRNA sponging or RNA-RNA/protein interactions; not a direct pharmacological drug target.
