Other gastric mucus-associated proteins refers to a heterogeneous group of proteins and peptides, excluding the primary structural mucins (MUC5AC and MUC6), that constitute the gastric mucosal barrier [1]. This group includes the Trefoil Factor Family (TFF1, TFF2, TFF3), which are critical for epithelial restitution and repair, as well as antimicrobial proteins like lysozyme, lactoferrin, and various immunoglobulins (e.g., IgA) [2][3].
