The ovostatin 2 pseudogene (OVOS2P) is a human genomic locus identified on chromosome 12, which is annotated as a non-functional pseudogene showing homology to ovostatin and alpha-2-macroglobulin-like proteins. Pseudogenes like OVOS2P do not encode functional proteins and are considered remnants of gene duplication or genomic rearrangements; thus, OVOS2P has no known molecular or clinical role, and is not regarded as a drug target or disease-associated locus. This is not a therapeutic target and should not be confused with functional serine protease inhibitors or alpha-2-macroglobulin family proteins.
