Target intelligence / Profile preview
Oxidative stress reduction via glutathione replenishment refers to strategies or interventions aimed at increasing cellular or systemic levels of glutathione to counteract oxidative stress by neutralizing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and maintaining redox homeostasis. Glutathione is a tripeptide and the cell’s primary endogenous antioxidant. Replenishing GSH stores can protect against DNA damage, apoptosis, protein oxidation, and lipid peroxidation.
Direct or enzymatic neutralization of ROS, increasing glutathione synthesis or reducing glutathione disulfide (GSSG) back to GSH, supporting Nrf2/HO-1 signaling, or providing precursors for glutathione synthesis.
