p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase beta (p38β MAPK) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the p38 MAPK family. It plays a crucial role in cellular responses to stress, inflammation, cell differentiation, apoptosis, and autophagy. Activated by upstream kinases MKK3/MKK6 through phosphorylation, p38β phosphorylates various substrates, including transcription factors and protein kinases, modulating gene expression and cellular processes.
