pan-chemokine receptor

Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor superfamily
01

Overview

The term "pan-chemokine receptor" refers to the concept of targeting or modulating multiple chemokine receptors simultaneously. Chemokine receptors are G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that mediate cellular responses such as migration, adhesion, and activation in response to chemokines. Pan-chemokine inhibitors block the activity of several different chemokine receptors at once, suppressing the effects mediated by many different chemokines. This approach is considered beneficial in diseases where redundancy among ligands/receptors allows escape from single-agent blockade, such as cancer metastasis and severe inflammatory disorders.

Mechanism of action
