Target intelligence / Profile preview
Panax ginseng (family Araliaceae), known as Korean or Asian ginseng, is a perennial plant native to East Asia whose fleshy root is used in traditional and herbal medicine. It is widely consumed as a tonic for its purported adaptogenic, immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fatigue properties. The primary active constituents are ginsenosides, a group of steroidal saponins that may exert various pharmacological effects. While extracts from Panax ginseng are studied for benefits in metabolic disorders (such as diabetes), fatigue, cardiovascular health, and immune support, Panax ginseng itself is not a singular molecular target but a complex herbal source containing multiple bioactive compounds
