Pancreatic adenocarcinoma upregulated factor (PAUF) is a secreted, N-glycosylated protein highly overexpressed in pancreatic cancer and some other cancers like cervical adenocarcinoma. It promotes tumor growth, migration, invasion, angiogenesis, and immune evasion by modulating the tumor microenvironment, including increasing the number and suppressive function of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs). PAUF is considered a potential diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target, with a monoclonal antibody (PBP1510) under development. High PAUF expression correlates with poorer survival outcomes.
