Overview

Pancreatic enzymes are a group of digestive enzymes (lipase, protease, and amylase) produced by the exocrine pancreas and secreted into the small intestine. They are essential for the digestion and absorption of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Insufficient production or delivery of these enzymes can lead to malabsorption syndromes, requiring pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy.
