Paracrine factors from neonatal cardiac progenitor cells (nCPCs) represent a diverse set of bioactive molecules secreted by these immature heart-derived stem/progenitor cells. These factors, including cytokines, growth factors (e.g., VEGF, FGF), and extracellular vesicles, act primarily through paracrine mechanisms to promote angiogenesis, cardiomyocyte proliferation and survival, modulate immune responses, and improve wound healing after cardiac injury. They influence key molecular pathways like ERBB4/AKT, YAP1, and Wnt/BMP signaling, creating a regenerative microenvironment in injured myocardium. Due to their robust secretion profile and potent biological effects, allogeneic nCPC products are being explored as "off-the-shelf" therapies for heart regeneration.
