Overview
Paralemmin-3 (PALM3) is a predicted membrane-associated protein found in the cytoplasm and plasma membrane, related to the paralemmin family. It may enable ATP binding and is involved in regulating immune signaling, including the Toll pathway, potentially within the context of cytokine response and cellular reactions to bacterial lipopolysaccharide. While generally well expressed, detailed functional studies, roles in human disease, and drug interactions are very limited. It is not currently considered a validated therapeutic target or receptor. The paralemmin family is associated with morphoregulatory roles, such as membrane anchoring and cytoskeletal organization, but these features for PALM3 specifically remain to be systematically described.
