Paraneoplastic Ma antigen family member 8A (PNMA8A) is a human protein encoded by the PNMAL1 gene. It belongs to the PNMA family of proteins, which display similarity to retroviral *gag* domains. While other PNMA family members are involved in the formation of virus-like capsids and may play roles in cellular communication or engineered RNA delivery, the specific molecular and biological functions of PNMA8A remain largely uncharacterized.
