Overview

The parathymosin pseudogene (ENSG00000283057) is a genomic segment in humans that has sequence similarity to the parathymosin (PTMS) gene but does not encode a functional protein. Parathymosin itself is a nuclear protein involved in chromatin remodeling and cell proliferation, but the pseudogene form—like most pseudogenes—is usually non-functional and not expressed as a protein.
