PARP11 antisense RNA 1 (PARP11-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that is transcribed in the antisense direction relative to the PARP11 gene. Its primary presumed function is the regulation of PARP11 expression at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level, likely through RNA interference or chromatin modification mechanisms typical of antisense lncRNAs. There is currently no evidence supporting a direct role for PARP11-AS1 as a traditional therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter. No clinically relevant drugs, disease roles, or biomarker applications have been reported for this molecule.
