Overview

Partitioning defective 6 homolog gamma (PARD6G) is an adapter protein essential for cell polarization and the establishment of epithelial tight junctions. It plays a role in asymmetrical cell division, maintenance of cell polarity, and potentially the regulation of centrosome dynamics. PARD6G acts as a scaffold protein within polarity complexes, notably interacting with Par3 and atypical protein kinase C (aPKC), contributing to structural and signaling organization at the cell cortex. Although important in fundamental cell biology, there is no evidence currently linking PARD6G directly to therapeutic targeting or clinical utility
