Patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing 10 pseudogene (PNPLA10P)

Patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing 10 pseudogene (PNPLA10P) is a member of the PNPLA family, which otherwise includes several active lipid hydrolase enzymes. PNPLA10P, however, is a pseudogene: a genetic locus that resembles a functional gene but is noncoding and believed to have no protein product or biological activity. Pseudogenes arise due to gene duplication or retrotransposition and typically lack regulatory elements or contain mutations preventing transcription or translation. As such, PNPLA10P should not be considered a drug target, nor does it have an established role in human disease, biomarker use, or drug interaction.
