Pathogen adhesion inhibition is a therapeutic strategy focused on disrupting the initial physical contact between a pathogen and its host, a critical step for colonization and infection (Ofek et al., 2003). This process typically involves the binding of microbial surface components, known as adhesins, to specific receptors or glycans on the host cell surface (Sauer et al., 2019).
