Patient-specific pathogenic bacteria represent the unique bacterial isolates recovered from an individual patient during an infectious process. The biological function of these targets involves host colonization, nutrient acquisition, and the evasion of the host immune system through various virulence factors. Effective targeting of these bacteria is essential for treating recalcitrant infections, particularly those caused by multi-drug resistant (MDR) organisms, while attempting to preserve the patient's commensal microbiota.
